Socio-Economic Development
Socio-economic development enables businesses to support meaningful initiatives that empower black South Africans through access and opportunity, helping bring real positive change to communities. Socio-economic development should not be confused with charity. It is a purposeful process with defined goals and objectives, often incorporating a feedback loop. It aims to identify and address specific problems and to sustain the solutions achieved. For SED to be effective, businesses should devise creative ways of implementing it. Socio-Economic Development Contributions means monetary or non-monetary contributions implemented for communities, natural persons, or groups of natural persons, where at least 75% of their efforts are directed towards black South Africans, and they contribute 1% of their Net Profit After Tax (NPAT).
We provide expert advice to businesses, assess, and implement SED initiatives with lasting impact to targeted communities and beneficiaries aligned with the BBBEE Codes and relevant to their own goals. It includes enhancing the quality of life, reducing poverty, and promoting sustainable economic growth. It encompasses a broad range of activities, including community upliftment, skill development training, and empowerment initiatives.
